Frio e chuva nos EUA e no Canadá
Até agora, o Verão nos Estados Unidos da América e no Canadá tem sido o que os franceses chamam um “été pourri” (frio, húmido e ventoso). Os anticiclones móveis polares saídos do Árctico com trajectória atlântica não têm tido descanso.
O mesmo está a acontecer com os AMP da trajectória escandinava. Daí que o estado do tempo no centro e no norte da Europa tenha sido parecido com o dos EUA e do Canadá, embora menos agressivo.
Como quanto mais fortes são as massas de ar anticiclónicas mais cavadas são as depressões, o retorno destas depressões cavadas com massas de ar quente para certas regiões do Árctico tem conduzido a uma mais rápida fusão do mar gelado.
Voltando aos EUA e Canadá, recordes de temperaturas diárias são batidos no sentido da baixa. The coldest July on record é o que mais se lê nos noticiários do estado do tempo na América do Norte. No entanto, também surgiram ondas de calor dispersas e curtas.
